I’m looking to learn web design. Whilst researching the subject, I gathered that I should learn HTML, XHTML and CSS. Which book would you recommend to a complete beginner?

html is the base of web design, i suggust you stuy it first

before you buy a book you might want to check out http://www.ecomplive.com they give free website traiing, they show you how to build a website, market the website, and how to generate an income from your website again that is http://www.ecomplive.com
