You won’t get many answers to this one because there really is none.
Your best bet is to use the groups and forums for things related to what you want to advertise.
Yahoo groups is huge w/ tons of members
Myspace and facebook have groups as well
As far as free classified sites, none get even 1/50th of the traffic of Craigslist.

apart from ebay, we have sites like http://www.superpages.com/ http://www.openlist.com/ http://www.kijiji.ca http://www.gumtree.com http://www.yellowbot.com/ and the like. These are all auction websites. I guess this is the best answer!!!!!!!
