The Tragedy Of Creon In Antigone Along with its shiftingopinon in the play, the Chorus comments on proper conduct asviewed by the masses in Ancient Greece. “Zeus hates with avengeance all bravado, / the mighty boasts of men.” (lines 140and 141) The notion that men should be reverent to the gods isthe antithesis of what Creon initially embraces. “The power isyours, I suppose, to enforce it / with the laws, both for thedead and all of us, / the living.” (lines 238 to 240) Creon’saccepting the supposed power to enforce both the living and thedead reveals him as accepting a false superiority to the godsand thus angers them. The Chorus, in foreshadowing the story, relates its current events to those of its past. “…at lastthat madman / came to know his god- / the power he mocked, thepower / he taunted in all his frenzy / trying to stamp out / thewoman strong with the god…” (lines 1058 to 1063) This anecdoteis a retelling of a past myth in relation to Creon’s present daystruggle. The understanding that Creon’s mocking and taunting ofthe gods is highly dissaproved of by the Chorus fortells that hewill anger the gods. It is also foretold that the “madman” whoattempts to kill Antigone will come to know his god. The powerof this foreshadowing accentuates the common vision that Creonis facing a tragic end. Creon’s tragedy is underscored by theChorus’ final words of the play, “The mighty words of the proudare paid in full / with mighty blows of fate…” (lines 1468 and1469) This integration of the concepts of pride and dismal fatesums up Creon’s tragic destiny. With the knowledge that hispride and actions caused the deaths of those he loves, Creon isfated to a life alone, made wise too late, thus making him ourtragic hero….

First Steps to Starting Your Own Small Business

Author: Marjorie Geiser

You’ve been dreaming about what it would be like to start yourown small business. It has been on your mind since you were inschool, and there are times, especially on Monday mornings, thatyou daydream about it. But, you’re not really sure what it wouldlook like. You don’t have the first clue how to get started, andof course, you’re afraid that you would put your heart and soulinto it, only to fail and look like a fool. You barely even talkabout it out loud, because you don’t want family and friends tolaugh at you.

But, anything is possible! The only limitations we have are theones we put on ourselves! With planning and learning the steps, and doing your homework, if this is something you really want todo, you can do it, AND succeed greatly at it, too!

I’m not saying it’s easy! Nothing worth having is. I have hadto learn a great deal; about myself, about business, about myclients and potential clients. And it never ends, because myinterests and passions change with the years. But, how exciting!

When my daughter started kindergarten, I returned to school. Ittook me five years to get through school, but I had a vision: Iwanted to help people become healthy and fit in the privacy oftheir own homes. After school, I didn’t have that plan fully inplace, even in my mind, but after six years of working in ahospital, I was ready. I opened MEG Fitness in June, 1996. It’sbeen an incredible ride! I’ll never look back at my life withregrets that I didn’t pursue my dream. I really have learnedthat the only limits are those I impose on myself, too! So, Icontinue to dream bigger and allow my vision to become moregrand. Why not? What’s the worst that can happen?

That’s what you have to ask yourself. If you never try, willyou be happier? If you never try, how will you know if you couldhave done it? Consider some of the well-known names in sports, such as Michael Jordan, the basketball player; he has thrownmore MISSED shots than those that have made their mark. What ifhe had not taken the chance to see what was possible for himself?

Okay, so now you’re ready to take the next step! First, inorder to help you focus, I recommend that people start workingon their business plan. The Small Business Association hasinvaluable resources on their website (www.sba.gov). This wasthe route I took. A year before I quit the hospital, I startedworking on my business plan. It helped me determine exactly whoI was, what I offered, why, who my ideal client was, who mytarget market was (at that time), who my competition was, whereI would offer my services, how I would offer them, and so on. AsI coach other health professionals who want this dream, I nowuse a 3-page business plan for clients who don’t plan to lookfor outside funding. Regardless of the type of business plan, itwill help answer many hard questions for you.

There are resources specific to most specific fields, too, including other professionals who help others get started. Doyour research to see who you can contact for support and to askquestions of as you progress. Once you have your business planin place, it’s not time to celebrate, yet! How are you going toaccomplish the goals you have come up with in that plan? Younext need a marketing plan. Now, although the marketing plan isalso part of a business plan, it’s really just the intro! Themarketing plan will become your template, your schedule, andwill spell out the actions you will take to make those goalsreality. If you use it seriously, it will be your day-to-dayguide to making your dreams come true!

Help choosing a topic?

Hi everybody and thank you for your help, I do not want you to do my homework, I just want you to give me an IDEA OF A TOPIC, not do my homework! =] thank you

Scenario

While attending this class, you also work at DigiFast, a small company that creates and markets video games for educational and entertainment markets. DigiFast recently moved into River View Plaza, a four-story office building in Portland, Oregon.

River View Plaza includes a lobby with a security desk and several suites on all four floors. DigiFast occupies a typical suite that includes offices for managers, full-sized cubicles for employee workstations, a conference room, and restrooms. There is a break room with a refrigerator and a microwave, but, unfortunately, the break room is on the first floor, and DigiFast is on the third floor.

DigiFast is new and growing fast. The company needs more employees, but the operating budget will not allow for it presently. Meanwhile, the goal is to make the operations efficient while keeping the current employees happy. You think one way to achieve this goal is by attracting outside services to the building.

The other businesses in the building are similar in size to DigiFast but focus on markets other than software: a dentist, a young lawyer, and an insurance company. The building also has several spaces not yet rented. At capacity, the building can accommodate approximately 1,300 people.

The location of River View Plaza is ideal, and the size of the office is adequate. However, the owners of the building supply space but little else in the way of service. The entrepreneurial spirit in you views this as a golden opportunity to attract a new service for DigiFast and other companies in the building.

Your task is to convince your colleagues, manager, the owner of DigiFast, and the building management company your service has great potential and would be useful for your company’s employees and others in the building. A committee of key individuals will make the decision to move forward . . . or not. The committee consists of the following:

Charlotte Alexander, the founder and owner of DigiFast. She has a master’s degree in computer engineering and has spent 20 years working in IT industries. Charlotte is interested in efficiency and company growth.

Mark Jackson, your manager: Mark was recently recruited from a major video marketing company. He has an MBA from a prestigious university and two years’ work experience. Mark cares about the bottom line—he favors creativity as long as profit does not suffer.

Stacie Matthews, computer programmer: Stacie is currently working on her undergraduate degree in computer programming. She has extensive experience in developing video games but wants to finish her education to advance in this industry. Stacie is practical and creative.

Dave Martinez, graphic designer: Dave is a self-taught graphic artist who has won numerous awards for his designs. He is imaginative and innovative.

Steve Taylor, facilities manager: Steve is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of the building, as well as renting available space to companies compatible with the businesses in the building. Although he is friendly and easygoing, Steve expects a job to be done right.

Task

Your task is to choose a service you think would be useful for DigiFast and most employees in the building. Remember: The goal of the service is to increase efficiency of operations and/or keep the current employees happy. As you think about the argument you will ultimately present to the committee, consider the different needs and personalities of the five committee members you have to persuade. All of the committee members have to agree on your service. You also need to anticipate any objections they might have as well as ways you can overcome those objections.

Which affiliate marketing networks can I make the most money from?

I have been using Clickbank for affiliate marketing products for the past 4 months and I just made the payout last week since you have to have 5 different transactions to get your first payout. I only do affiliate marketing part-time on 3 blogs and 1 niche website, but I would love to eventually do it as a full-time job and make more than $75 a month to do so. For people who have experience with different affiliate marketing networks, which one do you see the most sales and income from?

Seven Steps on How to File for Bankruptcy

Author: Roy Barker

In the 21st century, many men and women find themselves struggling to keep their heads above water financially. With ever mounting debt, these people oftentimes need to seek relief by filing for bankruptcy. Perhaps you are such a person who is fighting to make ends meet. As a result, you may be wondering how to file for bankruptcy.

The first step in learning how to file for bankruptcy is to make a comprehensive list of all of your creditors and outstanding debts. When you are working to determine how to file for bankruptcy, you need to appreciate that if you to proceed with a bankruptcy case, you must be sure that all of your debts are disclosed and listed in a bankruptcy petition.

The next step in filing for bankruptcy is to determine exactly what assets you have available to you. Your assets include your recurring income from your job, your home and major items of personal property that you might own (including such items as motor vehicles).

The third step you need to undertake when it comes to seeking bankruptcy relief is to contact all three major credit bureaus. When all is said and done, the three major credit bureaus may have the best record of all of your outstanding debt. By obtaining your credit reports from the three major credit bureaus, you will be able to cross reference your list of debt to make certain that you have all accounts covered and listed.

The forth factor that needs to be considered on the road to filing for bankruptcy, is to determine whether you will seek professional assistance in the pursuit of a bankruptcy case. Some people do elect to file for bankruptcy on their own without the aid and assistance of a lawyer. However, in most instances, it probably is in your best interest to seek the professional assistance of a lawyer in order to properly pursue a bankruptcy case. Therefore, unless you have a very simple bankruptcy on the horizon and unless you actually have some definite, practical legal experience, you should seek out the assistance of a lawyer to aid you in pursuing your case.

In working towards fully understanding how to file for bankruptcy, if you do make the decision to hire a lawyer, you will need to begin an organized search to find the best attorney to meet your needs. Keep in mind that in this day and age there are lawyers that specialize specifically in the area of consumer bankruptcies. As a result, you most likely will want to narrow your search to those specific attorneys who do have experience in dealing with bankruptcy cases. In the long run, you will be best served by engaging the services of a lawyer who has dedicated his or her career to bankruptcy law.

Once you narrow down the list of attorneys you are considering, the next phase in considering bankruptcy is to obtain references in regard to each of these attorneys’ prior performance. References will provide you with specific information on how a particular lawyer handles his or her business and on how successful he or she has been in the pursuit of prior bankruptcy cases. Your local bar association can provide you with the names of lawyers that specialize in the practice of bankruptcy law.

The final step in considering bankruptcy is to actually engage the services of an attorney. At this juncture, you attorney will prepare a bankruptcy petition on your behalf that will be filed in the bankruptcy court. With the filing, your creditors will have to suspend seeking debt collection from you during the period in which the bankruptcy case is pending.

By following the steps outlined in this article, you will be able to take serious action in order to get your financial house in order. Of course, bankruptcy really is an option of last resort when it comes to dealing with impossible debt. Therefore, you need to make sure you have exhausted any alternative options before you actually begin the course of pursuing a bankruptcy case.
