What web design platform or software can I use to design websites like iGoogle or My Yahoo i.e. websites (e.g.homepage) that can be modular in design and blocks can be moved around or replaced by the user? The user has a choice of modules to add to homepage and decides what to add or remove on their web page?

How do web design copyrights work? Are they copyrighted at all? Am I allowed to copy ones buttons off their website? Or their layout or colour scheme? Obviously I wouldn’t copy it exactly. What about modifying it some what? Thanks in advance guys.

I am planning on starting a web design company, and I am getting some staff together to help out. I am planning on how I want everything, and I just want more info on running one, so I don’t make a mistake when running one.

I’m in Interactive Media, and I am going to learn Maya. I looked up the software online and it’s very expensive over $500.00.
I am going specifically for web design because I like designing and making pages. I need to know this because I want to know which software I will need to buy for homework and a future career. My school has a deal with Adobe for students. $237 for Flash, Dream Weaver, Fireworks and Contribute.

I am looking at starting a web design firm with some friends and want to follow all the legal procedures. Are they sole proprietorships or corporations? Do I need a business license? What paperwork and other legal things do I need to do? I am totally confused as to where to beginning finding out the step by step process to making my business legal and fully professional and recognized. Any thoughts/opinions/comments in detail would be greatly appreciated. Once again I want to create a web design firm based in Seattle that does business both locally and nationally, and will have employees. Thanks!
